HOW TO GET THE PERFECT FESTIVE RED LIP

Tis the season, and you've hopefully arrived to your final destination
where you'll be spending these jolly days. Last year I almost didn't make
the plane home, and was close to spending a Christmas on my own. Whether
you're surrounded by family and friends, or maybe going out to meet new ones
who are also spending their Christmas away from home,
one thing is sure; red lipstick can be a game changer!

And good news, there's still time to dust off that red lipstick of yours,
and you won't need much to get it just right for Christmas eve. but a few
tricks will make the look go from good to perfect.

YSL ROUGE VOLUPTE SHINE

Here comes the magic trick: it's ELF.
No, it's not Will Ferrell dressed in a green suit and slippers
coming to do his magic with a make-up wand, and yes,
it is as effective as it is cheesy.

First step: exfoliate. There are several ways to do this well, and
it's all up to you what floats your boat. If you like me are suffering from
dry lips at this time, rub some lip balm on there before taking on the exfoliating
(I swear by Lucas' Papaw Ointment and M.A.C.'s Lip Conditioner). If they're
really dry, letting it sit for 10 minutes will do wonders, and not leave you with
bleeding lips (that's the exact opposite of what we're trying to do here). Some
mix in sugar with lip balm or honey, others use a dry towel, or a clean
toothbrush to rub off anything dry on the lips. Choice is yours, just make
sure your lips aren't too moist when you start applying your lip colour!

Second step: line the lips. This will prolong the longevity of your lip
colour, whilst making sure everything stays in place. After lining the edge
of your lips, smack them together a few times quickly, to smudge the
line into the lip a bit.

Third step: fill 'em in! With the little time we have until Christmas,
this is not the time to be shy! Apply the lip colour within your beautifully
drawn, beautifully smudged line and make sure to finish off with
a smile!

Visiting Denmark, a country that is already so diverse in
its nature, there's nothing like observing it in the late Autumn days,
where the spectrum of colours are nothing but overwhelming. Given the
fact that the majority of the colours I experience appear to me via a screen,
experiencing it first hand, even turning the camera off and just being in that
experience, is a gift from the world. Inspired by this beauty, I've collected a
few favourites above - especially so excited for cool cat Shini's latest
project with X Jewellery (speaking of Denmark, here's some cool
Danish design for ya!).

A SUMMER CELEBRATION

ZARA DRESS / MONIER FRERES BRACELET / WEAREARROW ACORN RING / NORDENSTAMM DOUBLE RING

It's probably quite safe to say, that I'm not the only one who's hopelessly in love with summer. I've always idolised summers in the south with baking temperatures, siestas and best of all, melting ice creams, that make it impossible for me to return home stainless. This affection left me slightly worried what these two weeks back in my northern home in Denmark would be like. Not having spent summer here in two years, my worries went, that I would be covered in wool from top to toe, sleeping with my socks on and might as well give up bringing my bathing suit..

How could I ever forget that summers here are just incredible?
The mild sunlight that goes on forever is just bright enough to leave your nose freckled, on good days you get those hot grilling temperatures, but the breeze keeps your body functioning. At my grandmother's summerhouse, where the whole family gathers to meet, has every kind of berry, where you return back to lunch completely full from the indulgence. The more words I put in writing to describe it to you, the more in love with it I fall. There's always a lawnmower going somewhere, bird singing and not to forget, dad on the banjo. I have spent hours by the sea on the days that allowed it and loved every second here.

HOPE YOU'RE HAVING AN AMAZING SUMMER!

ROYAL WAYS

VINTAGE JACKET / BETHNALS JEANS / BILLI BI BOOTS / MAGASIN SCARF

I realise, that this post is not very strong on the fashion side whatsoever. But what is fashion, if we can't sometimes give it a little break, if to keep warm when the degrees have hit below the freezing point, so you can get out in nature and its beautiful surroundings. After having spent a wonderful Christmas here with my family and happily joined by two beautiful Aussies, my flatmate and her cousin who are practically considered family, we wanted to take them a bit around my home country. Beautiful Frederiksborg Castle as seen above was my personal favourite. One of the four (!) castles we managed to pin on the map. It's been such a fantastic time here in Denmark, and I must say that I'm feeling slightly mellow to be leaving tomorrow already. I never feel I've done all I wanted, and seen all the people I want to see. The moment I get out of the plane, all I can think about is stocking up on family love. Till next time, Denmark!

MUCH LOVE

WINTER CAMOUFLAGE

REISS COAT / MUM'S HOMEKNITTED JUMPER / ACNE JEANS (similar here) / VINTAGE SHOES / MAGASIN HAT (similar here)

If there's something I love about my home country, however little I give it much acknowledgement in my daily life, it's the frosty mornings in the light of the rising sun. It may sound overly poetic, but when your daylight is limited from 8.30am in the morning till about 3.30pm, you learn to value these moments. Returning inside again with bright red cheeks and a sniffly nose oddly enough just adds to the charm.

Now, I've never been the avid user of camouflage pieces, but then again, I've never considered, that the evergreen of a trend could be as simple as a white coat in the snow. That's got to count, right? Now, if it hadn't been for the red velvet boots and the fact that I never tend to match my hats, I'd have disappeared completely.

HOPE YOU'RE HAVING SOME WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS DAYS!
