MOMENTS IN VERONA

I am back again from an absolutely magical trip to Italy. Covering over 600 kilometres in just five days with the most amazing road trip partner, I can hands down say that I've experienced some of the best things this amazing country has to offer. As a kid, my family and I would drive down through Europe to Italy nearly every year, so taking this road trip with no ambition of photographic outcome, merely for the memory of the moment they were capturing, it rekindled that pure feeling of well-being and relaxation. My phone was switched off more than it was switched on, and I'm so grateful for everything this trip gave me.

Verona followed our trip to Lago Di Tenno, and the adjectives that are to come could have described any Italian city for sure, but historical and beautiful Verona was an absolute gem. Not to forget that this is a city that holds one of the greatest love stories in the world, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, having Juliet's house (Casa di Giulietta) in the centre of the city, and it's absolutely worth going. Again, I've been to Italy many times, but this time I had the best pizza of my life. This is no joke, and you have to get yourself to Peperino ASAP, there is really no time to waste. Trust me on this one, you'll want to go completely classic! Get the Margherita STG con bufala and you will have an experience like no other.

HOLIDAY MODE


STRADIVARIUS JUMPER / STRADIVARIUS SKIRT / PRADA SUNNIES

Having entered holiday mode to the point where it's almost involuntary (read: no connection), keeping up with the big world of everything online has not just proven itself to be difficult, but actually impossible (now read: NO connection). When I wrap my dad in tinfoil and make him stand on a chair with arms towards the sky, I may just get enough connection for an odd Instagram photo and this post. Thanks, dad! 

So here comes the apology: pardon a million for the slow updating at the moment. I'm with my family in Denmark and Germany for another week before returning back to the connection hotspot in London, and the content that is to come will hit the fan. Thanks so much for your patience, your constant awesomeness and each and every second you take to check out the blog, the socials and of course the Babble Channel (Snapchat: srhmikaela).

BEACH O'CLOCK



Summertime! And the living is.. easy, and thankfully, wonderfully, finally hotter! 
Now luckily, my simple recipe for summertime happiness is easy too! You will need: one beach, two palm leaves - one for shade and one for back scratching plus a dinkelhopper, which is sure to detangle any unwanted frizz. Now, you might also like a denim skirt with pockets to carry other miscellaneous items, because, who in their right mind doesn't? Please note, if you choose to go with for a white one, you might be trading your beach party plans for a fun-packed night of emergency stain removing. Nothing beats watching that fate-determing washing machine go round.

A TASTE OF SICILY



Holiday season is just about to make its arrival, and if you have your trip planned to Italy, all there is left to say is: good choice! If endless supplies of gelato hasn't convinced you, let me tell you something about the Italy from an outsiders perspective. It's wonderful! Whilst even the cheapest slice of pizza here is better than the gourmet one at home, the Italian culture possesses a heat from inside that can only leave you in envy.

When my friends from Stradivarius invited me to join them for a summer expedition to Sicily, there was no hesitation. Sicily had until last week been undiscovered territory to me, and I was dying to soak up a bit of sunshine well guarded with a summer hat and 50+ Piz Buin sun screen (Pssst.. I'll be collecting my summer essentials in a post soon, so stay tuned!). It was honestly such a wonderful, wonderful trip and I made some amazing new friends. A special ray of love to Nicolee and Audrey, who were the best of cheeky company. We always seemed to be laughing for various odd reasons like, say, instead of getting a standard iced latté, I was served a big bowl of ice, a jug of milk and an espresso shot. Too funny and so sweet - had a DIY-session going on on my side of the breakfast table.

The team was amazing, and I can't wait to show you the rest of the outcome soon.
