A STONE'S THROW TO LUXURY

KEEPSAKE KIMONO

Having lived in "another country" (insert: England) for over two years now, the topic of home has frequently been a topic on my mind. Let's be honest here, home is the place where the risk of finding something once edible now undefinable always hangs over your head. But to draw up a more rough sketch in trying to define "home", to me it's better experienced accompanied by "holiday". I recently had the most ultimate experience of what these two could do together. Thanks to Hotel Café Royal, Regent Street became my home for some days, and although only a stone throw from where my daily shenanigans usually take place, it left me with a complete new insight of the adventures that are to be had in the city of London.

This will continue as a little feature series, as unleashing the complete experience to you at once would leave you daunted. So for this first tribute, Hotel Café Royal will have to be on top of the list. The New York Times delivered each morning, the best fruit salad and an iced coffee to go when I was running out the door insisting that I wouldn't have the time to sit down (they insisted I would and they were so right) and the most fabulous spa Akasha for a relaxing pool-dip followed by relaxing treatments, left me the happiest gal in London.

You can't really do London without doing afternoon tea, and Amy (FF superstar) and I had our fair share of clotted cream and Earl Grey's. One not to miss is the impeccable Sketch London, with interior that will blow your mind. Whatever you imagined, it's better. A million times even. Let's just say that the loos have bird-singing and a roof that makes you feel like you're in a 90's Nintendo console-game. Prepare to be amazed, and whatever you do, don't skip this experience.

A SUMMER CELEBRATION

ZARA DRESS / MONIER FRERES BRACELET / WEAREARROW ACORN RING / NORDENSTAMM DOUBLE RING

It's probably quite safe to say, that I'm not the only one who's hopelessly in love with summer. I've always idolised summers in the south with baking temperatures, siestas and best of all, melting ice creams, that make it impossible for me to return home stainless. This affection left me slightly worried what these two weeks back in my northern home in Denmark would be like. Not having spent summer here in two years, my worries went, that I would be covered in wool from top to toe, sleeping with my socks on and might as well give up bringing my bathing suit..

How could I ever forget that summers here are just incredible?
The mild sunlight that goes on forever is just bright enough to leave your nose freckled, on good days you get those hot grilling temperatures, but the breeze keeps your body functioning. At my grandmother's summerhouse, where the whole family gathers to meet, has every kind of berry, where you return back to lunch completely full from the indulgence. The more words I put in writing to describe it to you, the more in love with it I fall. There's always a lawnmower going somewhere, bird singing and not to forget, dad on the banjo. I have spent hours by the sea on the days that allowed it and loved every second here.

HOPE YOU'RE HAVING AN AMAZING SUMMER!

VICTORIAN WANDERS

VINTAGE SHIRT / GAP SKIRT / MONICA VINADER BRACELET / HATMAKER HAT / EVERLANE BAG

Now which surroundings could be better for a Sunday ride, than the beautiful settings of Victoria Park in my hood of East London? Thus also becoming the location for the third part of my collaboration with GAP's global digital influencer platform Styld.by. Although the East End comes with the reputation of being slightly rough around the edges, and there's such a charm and beauty to this part of London - especially now that summer has arrived! Warmer temperatures call for white over black for sure, and I landed on this tulip skirt to go with one of my favourite vintage shirts for this day out. If you come to the area, make sure to check out Victoria Park Village - small café's and niche shops will keep you charmed all day!

HOPE YOU'RE WELL

BEACH O'CLOCK

Summertime! And the living is.. easy, and thankfully, wonderfully, finally hotter!
Now luckily, my simple recipe for summertime happiness is easy too! You will need: one beach, two palm leaves - one for shade and one for back scratching plus a dinkelhopper, which is sure to detangle any unwanted frizz. Now, you might also like a denim skirt with pockets to carry other miscellaneous items, because, who in their right mind doesn't? Please note, if you choose to go with for a white one, you might be trading your beach party plans for a fun-packed night of emergency stain removing. Nothing beats watching that fate-determing washing machine go round.

A TASTE OF SICILY

Holiday season is just about to make its arrival, and if you have your trip planned to Italy, all there is left to say is: good choice! If endless supplies of gelato hasn't convinced you, let me tell you something about the Italy from an outsiders perspective. It's wonderful! Whilst even the cheapest slice of pizza here is better than the gourmet one at home, the Italian culture possesses a heat from inside that can only leave you in envy.

When my friends from Stradivarius invited me to join them for a summer expedition to Sicily, there was no hesitation. Sicily had until last week been undiscovered territory to me, and I was dying to soak up a bit of sunshine well guarded with a summer hat and 50+ Piz Buin sun screen (Pssst.. I'll be collecting my summer essentials in a post soon, so stay tuned!). It was honestly such a wonderful, wonderful trip and I made some amazing new friends. A special ray of love to Nicolee and Audrey, who were the best of cheeky company. We always seemed to be laughing for various odd reasons like, say, instead of getting a standard iced latté, I was served a big bowl of ice, a jug of milk and an espresso shot. Too funny and so sweet - had a DIY-session going on on my side of the breakfast table.

The team was amazing, and I can't wait to show you the rest of the outcome soon.

I HOPE YOU HAVE AN AMAZING WEEKEND!

GALLERY GARDENS

WALLIS DRESS / ZOMP SHOES / CATARZI HAT (similar in marine here) / MAXMARA TOTE

Properly back in London now, I feel I should let you in on one of my secret spots, that I go for a Sunday retreat or a mid-week getaway. By going through the photos above, you might have already guessed that it's called The Gallery Café, and so it is! A lovely little vegetarian + vegan café hidden away in East London, that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and does, if I may say so myself, an excellent coffee. There's a backyard gardenspace to really take in these beautiful early summer days, and it's just a lovely contrast to the city.

Now, it seems the monochrome outfits have made it to the front of my wardrobe more so lately than usual, and yet again you find me in an all-time print favourite: le stripes! It is assumed, that I am quite possibly turning into a racoon, but if so, most wonderful followers, this blog comes stink-free (knock on wood).

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY
