THE BEAUTY SECRETS OF A TIBI GIRL

FramboiseFashion Tibi New York

As much as I love extravagance and creative explosions with
intricate details in both fashion and beauty, there's nothing that hits home
with me quite like a natural look. Tibi knows exactly how to get this look right
and during this New York Fashion Week, I witnessed Bobbi Brown do her
thing backstage, beautifully enhancing the natural beauty of the Tibi girls
to go with the wearable, delicate 90s silhouetted styles from SS16.

So to the secrets, shall we!

A Tibi girl is as modern as she is nonchalant, so all she will need
as her means are truly dramatic, black eyelashes - or so it would seem.
The eyes are no doubt the focus of this beauty look, but to make them truly
stand out, Bobbi's secret is creating a perfect canvas by brightening and
blurring skin. There is really no-one better to explain the technique,
than the expert herself, why I thought I'd share her perfect skin
tutorial here and as a go-to for the overall beauty look,
swing by the eye make-up tutorial here.

Guest artist for Aveda, Frank Rizzieri, created an undone wave suiting everyone like myself, who have absolutely no skill when it comes to blowdrying. Whilst he truly does, it was relieving to see, that simply by using the Aveda Thickening Root spray in all of the hair, then using a diffuser to dry the hair and as a final step twist each strand and go over with the blow-dryer.

FAMILIAR SILHOUETTES

CACHAREL DRESS / TONY BIANCO SHOES / MARC BY MARC JACOBS WATCH / GAS BIJOUX BRACELET / NORDENSTAM RING

If there's anything that's really surprised me by being in New York, besides not seeing any characters from Friends just casually having cappucinis near Central Park, it's the fact that everything seems so familiar, yet everything is new. Having grown up in a country where a large chomp of popular entertainment was provided by American productions, many of those played out in New York. So many times have I seen movies or shows open with a sky view of Brooklyn Bridge or the skyline, and I can finally personally conclude, that there's nothing like experiencing this view first hand. Going back? Yes!

HOPE YOU'RE WELL

NI HAO FROM CHINA TOWN

GANNI KIMONO / BETHNALS JEANS / NICHOLAS KIRKWOOD BOOTS / MARC BY MARC JACOBS WATCH / NORDENSTAM RING / WEAREARROW RING / GAS BIJOUX BRACELET (similar here)

Hello from CHINA!
I mean, London. I mean, China town in New York.. Oh, you know!
I fully realise that I technically since this Saturday owe you a story with a tuna sandwich. Please note, this story is well on its way, currently in the finalising stage making sure that I've used the most descriptive adjectives possible to give you guys an epic true story. Overselling already, but hey, the protagonist is a tuna sandwich, I was a mere observer of what was to come. Can't see that going wrong, right?

Either way, moving the focus back to this fascinating place which is China Town in New York. For someone like me, who has yet to visit China, standing in the middle of Mott Street in all its busyness, colour and cultural brilliance had me convinced that I was in fact on a different continent entirely. If you're heading for NYC, definitely check out China town and prepare to be visually excited by square watermelons and flashing signs.

HAVE AN AWESOME START TO YOUR WEEK

NEW YORK TO LONDON AND A JAR FULL OF HONEY

REISS OSLO TOP / BETHNALS JEANS / TONY BIANCO STILETTOS / REISS BOX BAG / CARAVELLE WATCH / GAS BIJOUX BRACELET

Desperate to share some shots from New York with you, but suffering from a blogger's block (it could be because I just woke up from 10 hours of much needed sleep, and the world is a blur.. Or Mercury in retrograde) I've decided to share the honey-jar story.

So... Rewind 10 days, where I went for a stroll in Williamsburg in Brooklyn and came across this wonderful little food shop and spent much more time there than I'd like to admit to. Anyways, I found myself gushing over every single thing in the shop, as the packaging had me not only wanting to eat everything (this is a given), but also just admire the creative fonts and nice looking jars. Attempting to put a little bit of Pinterest into my London life, some soaps, a tiny cook book on sweet potatoes and a very lovely looking jar of honey went into my bag. So far so good. Or so I thought.

Little did I know, that only a few days later, I would find myself in customs looking at an open suitcase with a jar of... partially open honey. All over my new lovely brick red Reiss top. I got home, fearfully looking at the sweet spot.. I did that for a couple of days, not knowing how to approach it without ruining it. All climaxed when I couldn't avoid it any longer, and it all came off in water. Anti climax, perhaps, but nevertheless I was relieved and happy to hang my top back on the rack.

NEXT UP: THE MIDNIGHT TUNA SANDWICH ON LONDON BUS 108 WITH NO CONTACT LENSES.

FOUR BRILLIANT SPOTS FOR A NYC COFFEE BREAK

FINDERS
KEEPERS JUMPSUIT / GAS BIJOUX BRACELET / MARC BY MARC JACOBS WATCH / NORDENSTAM RING / WEAREARROW RING

Fashion weeks are in all their glory and glamour also take up a lot of energy, why I always try and savour a good coffee break. Maybe four, but moving on.. I trained as a barista age 16, and went on to spend a lot of my time working in coffee shops in Copenhagen, and I'll have to admit it, that if I can be called a snob in any area, it's coffee. Simply because a bad cuppa will put a frown on my face, so when I find a place that does it well with a good roast, I stick to it. During my week in NY there were four coffee shops that made me come back, so here's my list!

150 PRINCE STREET, NEW YORK, NY 10012
Known for their delicious yogurt pots, they also offer a brilliant cup of coffee right in the middle of SoHo. After snooping up on these guys on their website, I was happy to find out they only source natural ingredients (yay!) and the site is full of recipes!

19 KENMARE STREET, NEW YORK, NY 10012
When we made it to the Butcher's Daughter, I was starving, after having spent all morning photographing backstage. Finding The Butcher's Daughter was a sweet move from the universe, serving extremely delicious vegetarian meals and a coffee for the road.

164 MOTT STREET, NEW YORK, NY 10013
Okay. Now listen to me closely. You might have entered this place, craving for a caffeine kick, but I'm here to tell you, that that's not what you want. You'll want Two Hands' vegan chocolate milkshake. And you'll want it again.

781 FULTON STREET, BROOKLYN, NY
Unfortunately I was too groggy each morning to picture this, but if you're going to NYC, I can recommend locating myself in close proximity to these guys as I did. They indeed know how to make coffee that'll get you up and running in the morning and it may quite possibly the best coffee I had whilst in New York, so if you're Brooklyn bound, don't skip this place!

HOPE YOU ENJOYED THESE FEW SPOTS, AND PLEASE SHARE YOUR OWN FAVOURITES BELOW!

LOTS OF LOVE

MOMENTS FOR REFLECTION

KEEPSAKE AT VERY EXCLUSIVE TOP / FINDERS KEEPERS AT HARVEY NICHOLS PANTS / NEXT SHOES / REISS BAG (in black here)

I often think about where I would have been today, if I hadn't started my blog almost 6 years ago. Back then I was certain, that my clear focus was to pursue a career as a fashion designer, and when a friend mentioned that she had started to read blogs instead of magazines, me not even knowing what a blog was at that time. New Years, one week later, and Framboise Fashion was created. I loved photography, photo editing and not least fashion, so to have an outlet to display and share that passion put me in such a good place, and hasn't failed to do so in the years that were to follow.

To find myself waking up in New York because of it is, well... Beyond what I could have ever dreamed of. Surely thinking back, I do at many times wish that I would have spent more than 2 minutes coming up with the name, but even so, it has served me well in this time and for this I can only be grateful. I have so much to share with you from these amazing days already, and this blog enabling me to do that is just the best.
