EDELINE LEE COAT / EDELINE LEE DRESS / MS BAG / TOPSHOP BOOTS / PRADA SUNGLASSES / DANIEL WELLINGTON WATCH / WEAREARROW RING

In this digital age of smartphones constantly serenading their satellite pen pals, let me just say, that I for one am great at finding directions sans GPS. Sooo, not everyone around me agrees, and yes, I may have unnecessarily dragged Toni over a few Parisian bridges convinced we were walking North, but that was really a map dysfunction! Truthfully though, my goldfish-like sense of direction would quite possibly be more accurate, if I closed my eyes, spun around and then tried to point out North.

Therefor, I was extremely happy to be acquainted with this stunning Edeline Lee dress in Paris. Somehow we seem to be quite the match! Not to mention wearing bright green on the streets of Paris, matching the Spring.

HAVE A GREAT START TO YOUR WEEK

UNINTENTIONAL ATTACHMENT

ALEXA CHUNG FOR AG JEANS DRESS / VINTAGE BOOTS / MICHAEL KORS SUNGLASSES / MS BAG / CARAVELLE WATCH

It is very rare, that I become emotionally attached to a piece of clothing. Mind you, I love fashion almost to an unhealthy extent, however, multiple ketchup-spill episodes has taught me never to get attached. A garment of mine is most likely destined to end its days covered in food-stains, unworn in the "miscellaneous" corner of my wardrobe saved for special occasions (read: dinner in the dark, where I'll take the opportunity to casually mention that I'm wearing the coolest Etre Cécile jumper, and make a mortified remark over the spots obviously made from blindfolded dining. Obviously). So to put it mildly: I don't commit.

But this dress.

Where to begin. I just knew. From the moment I put it on. It's like when you found that stray cat / mouse / hamster in your neighbourhood - your mum most likely didn't even know what it was - but you didn't care. You named it something cute and fluffy but vowed you wouldn't get attached. But it's already too late. Same goes for this dress. Alexa Chung somehow just knew exactly what I was missing, when she created this collection for AG Jeans. I am left completely smitten, and even with a dress (every girl knows deep down whether she's a trouser or dress kind of girl, and I'm not the last one)! In fashion as in love, we fall for the unexpected, caught off guard - most importantly for a life long spot-less relationship - don't touch the ketchup.

THERE ARE KANGAROOS ON THE SNAPCHAT NOW UNDER THE USERNAME: SRHMIKAELA!

THE PACKING MYSTERY

REISS SHIRT / AC FOR AG JEANS DUNGAREE DRESS / REISS BAG / BIANCO SHOES / WOLFORD SOCKS / MONICA VINADER BRACELET

Now, packing a suitcase of outfits worthy of picturesque Paris proved itself a bit of a challenge. Whenever I'm undecided / frustrated / confused - I snack. So there I was, looking down at my practically empty suitcase, that had more Smarties in it than complete outfits. I do like the whole idea of planning outfits beforehand, and yet somehow I always end up combining it in a completely different way than I had initially thought out. Sometimes because of Smarties stains to annoyingly remind me of my struggles from the packing night, and therefor you can imagine my relief, when this dungaree dress came out white. Sometimes I just don't understand how I can get away with it, but then again, the Universe does pay back by possibly making me the clumsiest thing with two legs, constantly walking into things, falling down from things and just... things. Touché Universe.. Touché.

I HOPE YOU HAVE HAD A REALLY LOVELY WEEKEND - SYDNEY ADVENTURES WILL TAKE OFF SOON, SO MAKE SURE TO CHECK IN ON THE INSTAGRAM AND SNAPCHAT @SRHMIKAELA

HOTEL DE VILLE

REISS
JACKETVINTAGE TOP / OASIS CULOTTES (same style here) / REISS BOOTS / MONICA VINADER RING

Springtime in the Northern hemisphere! Quite a treat, when the sun is coming down on Hôtel de Ville in Paris. I have traded it in for some time to soak up the Autumn air in Southern hemisphere, which leads me to a little anecdote from my day today in lovely Melbourne, Australia.

Today I made friends with the staff of the emergency department of St Vincent's hospital. This silly quack caught the flu, and after a bit of unconsciousness and head bumping, I found myself in an ambulance with a neck brace (this would stay on me for the next 6 hours to come), having lights flashed in my eyes and trying to recall which day of the week it was - now, suffering from jet-lag brain, you can imagine how this would take a bit of calculating to get right! Neck-braces and nausea aside, I did somehow feel as if I was the living protagonist of a modern Cinderella story. You see, the super awesome ambulance drivers, Darryl and Cas, drove off with my beloved &otherstories flats after making sure I was in good care at the hospital.. So after a long day at St. Vincent, I found myself standing barefoot outside the emergency in my stripy PJ's, which makes me feel this trip might just be one of those trips full of firsts. Like when I yesterday found myself desperately uploading an instagram from a laundromat with free wi-fi and no washing, or even better: when I woke up today with a cockroach the size of my thumb next to my head. Are we seeing a pattern here?

Anyways, a load of gratitude to Darryl and Cas and the team at St. Vincent - my shoes are a small sacrifice for the massive amount of help, kindness and calm they brought to the situation - although I reckon these amazing people will probably never read this, I will let it go out to everyone who makes that effort to take care of us, when we are unable to do it ourselves: thank you so much!

Text heavy post, wooh! Who knew I had it in me?

LOTS OF LOVE FROM OZ, HOPE EVERYONE IS HAPPY AND WELL

GO GRAND

ZARA BLOUSE / REISS CULOTTES / ZARA BLAZER / ASOS WHITE SHOES / MS BAG / CARAVELLE WRIST WATCH

Although I'm sure various taxi-drivers of Paris are relieved that I have left town after me relentlessly attempting interactive conversation in broken French, I am not at all done with Paris. The croissant trail follows me to the ultimate spa and fashion week recovery resort called Mum & Dad's, and now, over heart-shaped Danish waffles, I am mentally preparing myself for what running the blog from the other side of the world will be like. And whilst I'm spending more days on the go these days than at my base in London, there's always that mystery of how a new place will affect you and your work. I expect kangaroos, koalas and kookaburras to feature in shoots, but you know how flaky they are with punctuality.. Now, these thoughts couldn't be further away from the arches of Musée du Louvre, although I'm amusing myself with the thought of an Australian take-over of the place. Red sand and wombats! Now, I'm getting ahead of myself, just a week away, so until then: Paree!

HOPE YOU ARE DOING WELL

LE TOURISTE

LEVI'S JACKET (similar here) / REISS JUMPER (similar here) / STRÆK&BØJ PANTS (similar here) / M&S BAG / CATARZI HAT / NIKE AIR FORCE 1 SNEAKERS

Paris. I am in awe of you. As your visitor, admirer and observer, this time you truly outdid yourself. And there I was, butchering through croissants and pain au chocolats, attempting to act as elegantly as your inhabitants, but had tourist written all over with crumbs on my shirt.

However, Parisian flair or not, I was solemnly determined to soak up the atmosphere of the beautiful city in between shows, meetings and fashion week recovery at The Apartment. There is so much I want to share with you from this experience, and then I feel the challenge of depicting the magie of Paris, that would do it justice. Although attempting to, I have come to the conclusion that the flair, atmosphere and magie of Paris cannot be boxed and brought, but exists only this way in Paris. And then Australia is just one week away today! So many amazing things all happening at once, which means my morning granola will be to-go these days.

SENDING YOU MUCH LOVE, HOPING YOU ARE HAPPY AND WELL
