BERET IN MIND

SOCIALIZE IT ⇨

OH, THIS OLD THING?

Let's talk berets you guys. As when you can't go to France, you might as well let it come to you, and what better way to feel the aura of France than in the shape of a beret. Now there is no wrong doing in going all in combining it with a classic breton, but for the sake of exploration, here are three other ways you could style the ever so identifiable disc on your head. I've been looking for the perfect one all winter, and although combing through the high street, mine was found in a lovely vintage shop in Angel, London, who had unused stock. If you can tolerate pure wool, I highly suggest you take a trip to Camden Passage, do as I and get one as cheap as toast!

Moving on from the exciting chat about classic French headwear, I'd love to share a quick note on validation. In the time this blog has been running (since 2009, whaaat!?) my relationship to fashion has changed so much. Fashion has for me always come from a place of having fun, but I remember thinking that the outfit made me and not the other way around, especially when I was a lot younger. Now I understand, that the clothes I wear is there as an expression of the person I am, and valid because of it. Validation comes from within and begins with self-kindness. Never feel like you need to change what you like, choose to celebrate it regardless of how many likes it gets, and whoever wants to share that joy with you is a bonus.

YOU ARE AWESOME, EVEN IF YOU SHOULD QUESTION IT.
